Affordable & Connected Communities
Join NCSG for our inaugural regional summit on Equitable Transit-Oriented Development!
Join the Region’s Inaugural ETOD Convening!

The National Center for Smart Growth (NCSG) at the University of Maryland will host an exciting upcoming regional event, Affordable and Connected Communities: Transit, Development and Anti-Displacement in the Mid-Atlantic. This will be a hybrid event held in College Park, MD on September 10th, 2026. We would like to invite you to join us online for this event.
This event will highlight how, across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., many communities, government agencies and nonprofit and for profit organizations are working to balance needs for increased housing supply and improved access to transit with the need to maintain affordability and cultural resources in low- and moderate-income communities.
At this inaugural event for our region, roughly 75 invited decision makers and grassroots leaders representing communities from Richmond to Baltimore - as well as 300 virtual participants from across the region – will engage in powerful discussions about how to make sure transit investments benefit communities. The event will help chart a path for shared progress in growing communities across the mid-Atlantic.
Please RSVP at this link to let us know whether you are able to attend. We are excited for you to join the powerful multi-sector community we are bringing together. Please explore the links below to learn more about this event.
Sincerely,
The National Center for Smart Growth Team
